Matteo Ragni si è laureato in Architettura al Politecnico di Milano. Nel 2001 ha vinto con Giulio Iacchetti il Compasso d’Oro ADI per la forchetta/cucchiaio biodegradabile “Moscardino”, ora nella Collezione Permanente del Design presso il MOMA di New York.
Nel 2008 ha vinto il Wallpaper Design Award ’08 per la lampada da tavolo/ferma libri Leti prodotta da Danese. Sempre nel 2008 ha fondato TobeUs, marchio di macchinine in legno prodotte artigianalmente in Italia un marchio che vuole essere un manifesto per un consumo consapevole e che spesso si occupa di workshop e mostre itineranti. Per la casa editrice Corraini ha pubblicato “Camparisoda: l’aperitivo veloce futurista, da Fortunato Depero a Matteo Ragni” per celebrare i 100 anni del Futurismo e, nel 2012, il libro “Wallpaper Celebration” con Jannelli&Volpi. Sempre nel 2012 ha vinto il Premio Nazionale per l’Innovazione “Premio dei Premi” per il progetto W-eye. A fine 2013 si è tenuta all’ Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Toronto una mostra celebrativa sulla sua attività dal titolo “Matteo Ragni: Almost 20 Years of Design”. Nel 2014 vince con Giulio Iacchetti il secondo Compasso d’Oro ADI per la serie di tombini Montini. Nel 2015 viene invitato in qualità di rappresentante del design italiano all’edizione della Tianjin International Design Week con una personale “Matteo Ragni: Design for Better Days”, una mostra raccontata fotograficamente da Max Rommel.Del 2015 il premio Good Design Award assegnato al sistema HUB disegnato per Fantoni.
All’attività di designer affianca quella di docente in diverse università internazionali, di art director e architetto.

Matteo Ragni, graduated in Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano. With Giulio Iacchetti in 2001 he was awarded with Compasso d’Oro ADI for the disposable biogradable spork “Moscardino”, which is now part of the permanent design collection at MOMA New York.
He recently won the Wallpaper Design Award ’08 with Leti, a table lamp/book end produced by Danese. In 2008 he founded TobeUs: brand of wooden toy cars handcrafted in Italy, a brand that wants to be a manifesto for consumer’s awareness. With TobeUs he regularly organizes workshops and exhibitions. Recently he published with Corraini “Camparisoda: l’aperitivo veloce futurista: da Fortunato Depero a Matteo Ragni”, and “Wallpaper celebrations”. In 2012 he won the National Award for Innovation “Prize of Prizes” for the project W-eye. At the end of 2013 a celebratory exhibition about his work entitled “Matteo Ragni: Almost 20 Years of Design” was held at the “Italian Cultural Institute of Toronto”. In 2014, with Giulio Iacchetti, he won the second Compasso d’Oro ADI for the series of Montini manholes.In 2015 he gets invited with the role of representative of italian design to the Tianjin Design Week edition with a solo exhibition: Design for Better Days, a show photographically narrate by Max Rommel. 2015 is time for the Good Design Award prize awarded to the HUB system designed for Fantoni.
Today, along with his activity of designer, he teaches, he works as an architect and an art director.
